Title is ‘Boat name beehives’ on current website
The inscriptions on the beehives are all the names of real fishing boats, with their home port letters and numbers. Thus the Bountiful fished out of Ullapool, the Sweet Promise from Falmouth and the Golden Gain from Fraserburgh.
The work contains a metaphor linking the harvests gained by bees with those of the fishermen, both foraging far from home and in dangerous conditions to bring in essential goodness for their communities.
